A Hall of Fame Honor for CEO LeeAnn Cochran
October 2026
Celebrating LeeAnn's Induction into NECA's Academy of Electrical Contracting
Few recognitions carry as much significance in the electrical construction industry as induction into the NECA Academy of Electrical Contracting. Often regarded as one of the profession's highest honors, Academy membership recognizes leaders whose careers have shaped the industry through service, innovation, and a lasting commitment to excellence.
This year Cochran is proud to celebrate a milestone achievement as Cochran CEO LeeAnn Cochran was inducted into the NECA Academy of Electrical Contracting, joining an esteemed group of industry leaders whose contributions have left a lasting impact on electrical contracting nationwide.
To mark this achievement, we sat down with LeeAnn to reflect on what the honor means, the people who made it possible, and the future of the industry he has spent nearly four decades serving.
When asked about how it feels to be inducted, LeeAnn says, "It's humbling. The Academy is made up of people I've looked up to throughout my career, so to be counted among them is a real honor."

Having joined Cochran in 1987 and worked her way up from accounts receivable, the recognition is one she never imagined receiving early in his career. Standing on stage during the induction ceremony in Las Vegas, "I was thinking about my grandfather, my father, and my uncle, and all the people who built this company before me."
While the induction recognizes individual achievement, LeeAnn is quick to point out that the honor reflects the collective efforts of the entire Cochran team.
"To me, it belongs to the people of Cochran. I've always said I'm a people CEO, because our employees are the ones who make things happen."
From the field to the office, she views every employee as part of the company's extended family.
"We know our people, their children, and their grandkids. This recognition reflects the work of our electricians, project teams, office staff, and everyone I've been fortunate enough to serve alongside through NECA."
Over the years, that service has included leadership roles ranging from labor negotiations and apprenticeship programs to pension board responsibilities, all centered on strengthening opportunities for workers across the industry.

What inspires her to keep serving and innovating? The answer comes down to people and the life-changing career opportunities the industry provides.
She believes the electrical construction industry continues to offer one of the best career paths available, providing meaningful work, competitive wages, valuable skills, and long-term financial security.
While technology and project delivery methods continue to evolve, LeeAnn believes the foundation of success remains unchanged.
"The industry keeps changing, and we have to keep learning and adapting with it. What hasn't changed is that success comes from hard work, tenacity, and keeping our employees at the center of every decision."
This induction is a testament not only to a remarkable career of leadership and service, but also to the people, partnerships, and values that have shaped Cochran for generations. Congratulations, LeeAnn!
