Green Building/LEED
Cochran is experienced in designing and installing environmentally sound electrical solutions, using the latest energy-efficient technologies and green building products. We are active members of the Cascadia Region Green Building Council and support the organization’s goals to promote the design, construction and operation of buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Our highly trained project managers and field staff are experts in identifying opportunities to reduce a building’s environmental impact and minimize operating costs through high-efficiency lighting, heating systems and related sustainable practices.
A LEED certification is an important goal for any project and Cochran is committed to ensuring that our customers achieve certification if desired. However, building a sustainable building with the greatest energy efficiency and smallest carbon footprint is often achieved outside of the approved LEED categories.
Cochran strives to help our customers develop a truly “green,” eco-friendly building. We do this by investigating alternatives to commonly used techniques and making smart decisions in our design and construction practices that will help make each building truly sustainable—not just compliant with LEED standards.
Cochran provided Design/Build responsibilities on the tenant improvement build-out of the Chinook Office Building Project. The new 296,000 square foot Chinook Building, located on Goat Hill, features a 13-story office building, with a day care center and retail space on the main level and two levels of below grade parking containing 87 stalls.
Electrical Construction & Maintenance magazine ranked Cochran 43rd in their 2007 Top 50 Electrical Contractors Listing. Cochran was the only electrical contractor for the state of Washington ranked in the top 50.
